Michael K. Rogers

Michael K. Rogers is an accomplished director and cinematographer with a keen eye for crafting visually compelling narratives that elevate global brands. As a founder and director of Persistent Productions, Mike has led high-profile commercial campaigns for Westin, Korean Airlines, SONY Music, and Diageo, seamlessly blending cinematic storytelling with strategic brand messaging.

 Mike has collaborated with major production companies, including National Geographic Television, Discovery Networks, The Smithsonian Network, and Beach House Pictures. His deep-rooted understanding of Asian markets—shaped by his upbringing in the region—has made him an invaluable creative force in producing content that resonates across cultures.

Beyond his commercial work, Mike has also served as a cinematographer on critically acclaimed independent films such as Up to the Mountain Down to the River, a retrospective on the Chinese Cultural Revolution, as well as HBO’s Ghosts of Abu Ghraib, Moxie Firecracker’s Thank You, Mr. President, and Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11.

Passion

My great grandmother once said,

"The camera only takes what it sees,"

- and so I try and take photographs and videos that capture the beauty the world has on offer.

Purpose

If there's any truth to the phrase 'a picture is worth a thousand words', I hope that what I do with my images and through my stories allow audiences to connect on a deeper level with the topic on display, even if that depth isn't exactly 1,000 times more.
